Because

I know a lot of people complain about our church time. It starts at 1:30 and ends at 4:30. I actually enjoy this church time because it allows us to just relax in the morning...and have a yummy Sunday brunch too!

So--

Because it is Sunday--
Because, who doesn't enjoy a fancy breakfast at home?
Because these two mean the most to me in my life...and I love to make them smile!

Because strawberries, whipped cream and waffles are close to heaven in my mouth!
Because maybe I will get some peace and quiet when I want to practice this!

Happy Sunday!

Today, I am humbled.

I went to our friend's ward, also my home ward growing up, Quantico, today to bless baby Everett. It is also fast Sunday, and in my church that means that the members of the congregation go up to the pulpit and bear their testimony of the church and their experiences.

One testimony in particular humbled me today.

There is a woman that I have known for many years. She is a few years older than me. She has had medical problems her whole life, namely brain cancer. She has overcome many obstacles in her life, gotten married to her eternal companion, had a few kids etc. I know that she has been fighting the cancer again, anybody would know, as she wears a scarf on her head. But she looked so beautiful up at the pulpit today and it brought me to tears. First, her son wanted to bear his testimony, so she helped him with that. And then she bore hers. The very first thing she said was that a few weeks ago they sang "I Believe in Christ" and a phrase stuck out to her, so she shared it. "I Believe in Christ, so come what may."..that is when I lost it....tears flowing...I am sure there were others in the room as well.

This woman, who has NEVER been able to skate through life...now, obviously, dealing with medical issues, proclaims that she believes in Christ, so come what may. She understands that everyone has their own trials to go through life...and looking at my own trials compared to hers I am very humbled. I just can not imagine going through what she is, never knowing if tomorrow will come for her on this earth, but she wears a happy face and continues to believe. What a great example to not only me, but EVERYONE!

I am so happy I was able to sit in on Quantico Ward's Testimony meeting today...the testimonies born were what I needed to hear...especially Lindsay Heaton's.

Workity work work work

So--I have been SO busy with work since, well, the beginning of the year. This is what I wanted and it is great to have so many opportunities, but I feel SO guilty a lot of the time because I leave Josh with a babysitter or drag him with me and he sits and watches a movie or plays with stickers. (Hello run on sentence!)

Perhaps it is coincidence...who knows...but I ventured onto facebook today and what do I see but a group to join called "The Mormon Woman Project". It is no secret that in my religion they encourage women to stay home to care for the children...and it is quite honestly what I would LOVE to do...it just isn't in the cards for me. I felt impressed to start my business when Josh was about 4 months, but I didn't finally give into it until he was closer to 6 months. I felt like I was going against what I had been taught all of my life. But we needed more money to pay the bills and if I ever wanted to see my husband, I needed to work too. It has been a blessing, but it is SO hard and tiring sometimes to do it all. I am seriously contemplating making some changes in our current situation, but I have to sit on it some more before all will be revealed.

In the mean time---this article on that group was what I needed to read today!

Easter!

Wow! What a busy weekend! We had most of my family over, and then add in a few cousins and their kids and we have ourselves a GREAT family get together...nevermind that my neighbor called the cops on my family for parking...ugh.

Anyway--to keep it positive! First, General Conference (at least the first session on Sunday) was AMAZING! I really felt like some of the talks were directed at me. Very uplifting and motivating.

And what would Easter be without Easter egg hunts and decorating eggs. We took Josh to the Montclair easter egg hunt. It was the first time we got there, and he did great. We also had a family easter egg hunt that was pretty dang fun as well.

Here are some pictures of the weekend--

Checking out his loot

Josh likes the Easter Bunny!

Before all the decorating began!

Putting the stickers on...his favorite part!

The finished work

Went straight for the golden egg...thatta boy!

I am officially wiped out! And I have a long week ahead of me. I better go to sleep now!
